OK. Before I tell you anything about this wedding, I’m just gonna go ahead and show you this.
I can’t start with anything except these shoes. Because look at them. Deep, rich, velvety burgundy. Spike heels. Zippers! I want to get married again just so I can wear these shoes. You have no idea how hard it is for a lifelong shoe addict to give up her fabulous heels for sensible wedding photographer shoes. Apparently it’s unprofessional to hobble around a wedding complaining about how much your feet hurt.
While I’m at it, I’m gonna show you this, too.
Do you want to know about this wedding? I bet you do. Brie & Zach hail from my very own town of Port Orchard, and they got married on a typically gray Fourth of July at McCormick Woods Golf Course. It was my first wedding at this venue, and I really hope that it’s not my last. In addition to the beautiful scenery, perfect ceremony setup and great food, their staff was professional and knowledgeable. Event manager Kim (who also happens to be Brie’s mom) handled the dual roles of event planner and mother of the bride with ease.
Did I mention the beautiful scenery?
Golf course weddings do have their challenges. The ceremony site was closed to golfers, but the rest of the course was open – so we had to shoot around a few golfers during our portrait session, and we were restricted from walking on some parts of the green. Fortunately, it wasn’t very busy. Brie and Zach even followed me into the rough – or, as we call it out here in Port Orchard, the woods – for a few shots.
Congratulations to this happy couple! See more from their wedding here
